I graduated in Biology at the University of Aveiro in 2008 and subsequently enrolled in a Marine Biology MSc at the same University. In 2011, I started a PhD program in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Aveiro, graduating in 2016. During my PhD, I conducted research in the aquaculture field, focusing on the microbial communities inhabiting these systems using a metagenomic approach. At the end of 2018, and after 2 years of maternity leave, I started a post-doctoral fellowship in CESAM research unit (Centro de Estudos do Ambiente e do Mar, University of Aveiro). Since then, I am responsible for managing the Marine Molecular Biology Laboratory located in CEPAM-ECOMARE at UA. Currently, I integrate the team of the project “CtLight – Effects of light on the photobiology and growth of the commercially valuable macroalgae Codium tomentosum“, where I’m focusing on understanding the response of Codium tomentosum to different light regimes using transcriptomic analysis.
